Performance analysis of queuing systems using large-deviations techniques. My research has been in two areas: (1) Resource allocation in OFDMA networks, optimizing the average delay performance. (2) Asymptotic cross-layer performance optimization (considering both queuing delay violation and channel decoding/outage error) for single-user and multiple-user environment over several types of wireless channels, e.g., multi-antenna (MIMO) channels, MIMO multiple access (MAC) channels, cooperative relay channels, and time-diversity channels. In the multiple-user environment, the benefit of statistical multiplexing due to dynamic scheduling is quantified Currently, I am working on the many-sources large-deviations analysis of the buffer overflow probability of wireless networks with the maximum-weight dynamic scheduling.
